La Lanterna

A family-run Italian restaurant right in the centre of Glasgow, La Lanterna makes you wonder why people bother with pizza chains. Proud to be the oldest such restaurant in Glasgow, having been established over 35 years, the secret to the success seems to be the authenticity. The pasta is home-made in the restaurant’s kitchen and daily specials mean the menu is just as fresh; the seafood specials are hot favourites.

While the food is contemporary Italian, the décor is more traditional with bare walls and exposed beams, a low-key approach that keeps the emphasis on the food. There’s a separate bar as well, ideal for a post-dinner cocktail, perfect for relaxing after dessert; the tiramisu needs to be tried.

Mother India's Cafe

Situated across from Kelvingrove Art Gallery in the West End of Glasgow, Mother India’s Café offers a ‘twist on tapas’.The twist is, of course, that Indian food replaces Spanish.

Small portions from an extensive but freshly produced menu put into practice our belief in the concept of trying a little and tasting a lot.

Casual dining is the name of the game at the Cafe

Nandos

With quality food, friendly staff, quick service and excellent value for money, Nando's is a great place to eat, each restaurant is tailored to its local surroundings and customers, offering up a unique restaurant experience to go with the equally unique taste of legendary, Portuguese, Peri-Peri chicken.

Your peri-peri chicken, when the chips are down so to speak, is a fresh A grade chicken that has never seen the inside of a freezer, but having made the supreme sacrifice is butterfly-cut, marinated for 24 hours in a secret brew called - you've guessed - peri-peri, and is then cooked to your choice over an open flame.
